Overview

Under the leadership of the Treasurer, Treasury is responsible for managing the financial resources of the Firm through capital management, liquidity management, asset and liability management, interest rate risk management, funding, and other core treasury activities. Treasury resides within the Group Finance organization led by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The ALM team is part of Treasury and responsible for assessing and hedging interest risks in the Banking books; Asset and Liability Management (ALM) works closely with business units to appropriately understand the interest rate exposures created by the Businesses and their activities with respect to loans and deposits.

The team is responsible for identifying and proposing interest rate risk management strategies - often under the authority of the ALCos [group and regional].

Asset and Liability Management (ALM) then executes these strategies - utilizing a variety of derivatives [swaps and options] and securities. Pre-execution, the team works closely with our Market Risk and Finance functions - pro-actively managing a set of constraints [risk and financial limits] to ensure a smooth hedging execution.

What You'll Do
  • "Own" the interest risks in the US banking books thorough understanding of the risks - daily sign off and explains, adherence to and proactive management of limits across businesses and entities
  • Lead our frequent business sessions on balance sheet developments, business strategies and implications on interest risk representation and management for these books
  • Ensure the interest risks are properly represented. Proactively identify new/emerging IR risks. Identify potential model or calibration shortcomings - propose remediation's
  • Recommend optimal hedging strategies - using swaps - options - caps and floors and securities for parts of the portfolio. Discuss different strategies with our Interest Rate market making desks, research, business heads and market risk - including market level triggered executions etc
  • Present recommendation to Local ALCO for approval as required
  • Ensure our hedging execution is flawless - monitoring execution levels with our Interest Rate market making desk and ensuring all limits and constraints are adhered to


How You'll Lead:
  • Recommend optimal hedging strategies - using swaps - options - caps and floors and securities for parts of the portfolio. Discuss different strategies with our Interest Rate market making desks, research, business heads and market risk - including market level triggered executions etc
  • Present recommendation to Local ALCO for approval as required
  • Ensure our hedging execution is flawless - monitoring execution levels with our Interest Rate market making desk and ensuring all limits and constraints are adhered to


Skills You'll Need
  • Proactive and enthusiastic team manager - track record of developing talents from different backgrounds
  • Previous experience in interest risk in the Banking books management including sound understanding of products dynamic, behaviorization, ALM parameter calibration [Beta, decay/truncation, stability etc, modelling [as a model user]
  • Experience in hedge execution primarily across swaps/caps and floors/swaptions. Some securities knowledge [HQLA] is a plus but not a must

  • Well organized and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders in a very collaborative and transparent manner; cooperative yet demanding and challenging approach required of our partners
  • Demonstrate strong problem ownership - prioritization and track record in delivering effective solutions to financial and risk processes or modelling problems
  • Track record of leading process improvements - ideally experience as a 1st line - taking ownership for process improvements [data - model - trade representation - risk explain and reporting - IT platforms across this workflow]
  • Transparent and clear communicator, verbally and written - regional and global
  • Experienced in operating in matrix like set-up [regional vs group's framework]


Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $120,000 to $200,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration
