Our Zulily corporate headquarters is in Seattle, WA, and this position is a hybrid role.

The Opportunity

Public Relations (PR) Specialists should be a seasoned media relations expert, communications and/or content professional with a strong sense of editorial/seasonal judgement, exceptional communication skills and have project management experience. This individual will exhibit consistent creative problem solving, have the ability to train external influencers, internal experts, contributors and other experts on Zulily's brand and value proposition, and work closely with marketing and creative partners to test content effectiveness across earned and owned channels. Lastly, this individual will help drive, track and deliver results grounded in performance marketing principles to position Zulily as a fun shopping experience for its customers - millions of moms.

This role will report to Director of Communications.

Who We Are

As part of Zulily's external communications team, the PR specialist will be responsible for supporting and executing PR initiatives including media relations storytelling, project execution and management and external communications content strategy and materials development. The PR specialist's primary role is to help Zulily tell its story to stakeholders: prospective and existing customers, vendors, team members, and community at large.

Your Impact
  • Brainstorm, research and create unique newsworthy storytelling opportunities across the Zulily business to drive media coverage that influences Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs)
  • Leverage channel owners, market research, customer insights and other quantitative and qualitative inputs to identify new opportunities, as applicable
  • Deliver and drive earned media relations tactics (e.g. product sampling, surveying, data analysis) and efforts informed by insight and strategy
  • Conduct analysis to extrapolate trends and actionable insights using third, second and first party data to develop media strategy
  • Develop written content for initiatives including, but not limited to: press releases, mediagenic research reports, satellite media tours and MAT release message points, FAQs, briefing documents, talking points, cascades, etc.
  • Support execution and operationalizing the plans for prescribed projects and processes against RACI and timelines
  • Partner across the company to help galvanize resources, seek diverse perspectives, to build and execute on assigned programs and projects
  • Contribute and manage tracking of KPIs as well as weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis, as appropriate
  • Support account management of PR agency

What You Bring
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications field, ideally working on the PR-side either in-house or at a public relations agency
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing complex campaigns, projects, programs with a marketing and/or communications led objective, preferably within e-commerce
  • Strong ability to write for newsworthiness and anticipate trends, pop culture moments, etc. to insert the brand into earned media
  • Possess core media relations skills and existing media relationships in high-traffic consumer and/or parenting media
  • Ability to develop effective relationships, influence and collaborate at peer organizational levels
  • Fluency and knowledge of PR tools such as MuckRack, Critical Mention, etc.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, including Office 365, OneDrive, Excel, Teams, etc.
