Job Description:

The Enterprise Model Risk Management (MRM) organization is responsible for providing oversight of model risk across Bank of America. MRM independently validates and challenges newly-developed and existing models; is responsible for model risk assessments, limits and monitoring; communicates issues identified through validations to relevant businesses and governance and control functions; escalates model use breaches and remediation plans to relevant governance committees; maintains a comprehensive inventory of models across all businesses and governance and control functions; and manages an attestation process to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Model Risk Policy.

The Business Enablement team within MRM is responsible for the platform transformation initiative to strengthen the integration of the model validation process into the model lifecycle and further enable model-driven business. The team seeks a Validation Platform and Automation Lead to lead the effort for building model validation platforms within strategic business infrastructures. The platforms are aimed to enhance the model testing capability and modernize the end-to-end process of model development, validation, and ongoing monitoring. The role will work closely with the model validation team and bank-wide model development organizations to deliver advanced solutions to streamline process, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational risk.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of quantitative developers to deliver validation platform and automation solutions
• Develop platform roadmap and scope out technical requirements
• Responsible for the oversight and execution of project milestones and deliverables
• Responsible for the communication routines of project updates to the MRM leadership team and other audiences
• Design and measure KPIs and ensure continuous improvement based on feedbacks from internal clients
• Coordinate with stakeholders in MRM, Model Development, Model Owner, Technology for timeline, resource, and deliverables

Required Qualifications:
• Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Quantitative Finance, or Data Science
• 5+ years of working or research experience, and 2+ years of people management experience
• Advanced programming skills to write concise and production-quality code and build modular and well-structured code library; experience with software development lifecycles including ongoing codebases improvement and peer review
• In-depth knowledge of Python, C/C++, Perl, Unix, SQL, Big Data tools, relational database, data warehouse, dependency graph, and distributed computing
• Experience with building large-scale libraries of quantitative finance applications
• Experience with model development or validation and familiarity with model testing process
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels; Ability to collaborate with business and technology partners; Ability to interpret business needs to technical solutions and translate complex concepts for various audiences
• Ability to lead and develop a team

Desired Qualifications:
• Advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred
• Project management experience
• Broad IT knowledge of hardware, software, and database
• Good understanding of at least one of Bank's lines of business and its quantitative models
