Job Summary

The Office of Professional & Career Development (OPCD) is seeking a highly motivated and hardworking College of Business undergraduate student for a Student Associate supporting employer relations for off campus employers, starting at the beginning of Fall semester 2022 or sooner if available. This position will work directly with OPCD to assist with career events, data collection, marketing materials, and additional daily tasks. The position will work closely our professional staff and employers visiting Harbert College of Business.

Essential Functions
  • Assist with planning, preparing, & producing employer engagement events including the Harbert College of Business Career Fair and the Supply Chain Career Fair
  • Responsible for data entry within Salesforce and pulling employer engagement reports
  • Perform basic functions in Excel
  • Work within Canva to assist with marketing materials to promote events
  • Ensure the Employer Relations website page is up to date
  • Provide first-class customer service to all employers visiting the OPCD
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up for employer events
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the resources available within the OPCD

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Auburn University student in the College of Business
  • Must currently possess and maintain an Overall & Major GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Commitment to work up to 12 hours per week; some evenings required
  • Professional dress and demeanor required
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to understand professional boundaries
  • Committed to personally utilizing the services of the OPCD
  • Training will be provided on all technology and systems required, but some technical aptitude is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets and run reports would be very beneficial
  • Experience using Canva to create marketing materials

    Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.

    Today, Auburn is one of the few universities to carry the torch as a land, sea and space grant university. Our fall 2014 semester enrollment was 25,912. Our students can choose from more than 140 degree options in 13 schools and colleges at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
