Job Summary

The Director, Digital Platform Product Management is responsible for defining the vision and strategy for and leading the development of the end-to-end digital platform (commerce, self-serve admin, customer engagement, partner integrations, key business tools) for Allstate Digital Life (ADL), with the customer at the forefront. You will lead the entire digital Product Management function for ADL, and shape and standardize the practice. With your team, you will align business and technical needs, manage and prioritize roadmaps, analyze customer and product data, turn customer insights into actionable initiatives such as new features or experiments and tests, manage risks, and determine rollout strategy with go-to-market teams. You will partner with Engineering to identify and select vendors and partners to support the build-out of our digital platform strategy whenever necessary. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across all functions within ADL and across Allstate to define, align, and execute our digital platform strategy that works seamlessly with Allstate’s overall technology ecosystem. You are the ultimate subject matter expert on building digital products and experiences on the ADL business.

Allstate Digital Life is on a mission to innovate and disrupt the way consumers discover, purchase, and engage with life insurance, supplemental health insurance, and wellness benefits. Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of ADL’s digital platform
  • Define a cohesive, holistic vision and strategy for ADL’s end-to-end digital platform, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving team objectives
  • Ensure all digital platform execution is driven to plan and highlight accountabilities when it isn’t
  • Coordinate and scale cross-functional efforts for internal and external customers and partners across the US
  • Define, set, analyze, report, and achieve KPIs for our digital platform, aligned to ADL business objectives
  • Lead your team in measuring and analyzing the right customer and product data and insights, including usability research and market analysis, to develop feature ideas, plan and prioritize roadmaps, and make sound decisions
  • Establish a best-in-class test and learn approach to iterating and improving the digital platform for scalable growth
  • Manage and build the digital Product Management team, including hiring, training, mentoring, development
  • Establish the appropriate team structure to effectively execute our strategic digital platform objectives
  • Shape and standardize our digital Product Management function, including frameworks, processes, best-practices

  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals
  • Ongoing transparency and communication of the digital platform roadmap across the team and to key stakeholders
  • Shared accountability with Engineering for all digital platform related budget planning and execution
  • Obtaining Leadership and Executive buy-in for the digital platform vision, strategy, plan, roadmap, KPIs, and goals
  • Participate in larger strategic enterprise programs connected to ADL, including establishing a point of view for digital product(s) and leading work tracks assigned to this area from the enterprise programs
  • Act as first line of contact for the ADL digital platform with all AORs, setting the appropriate strategic tone with other involved AORs, and ensuring our efforts and processes are aligned and prioritized across the entire Allstate system
  • Generate energy, excitement, consensus across the business and Allstate for ADL’s digital platform efforts


Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree is required (STEM preferred), MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Product Management, Engineering, and/or Product Design
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, and User Research
  • Experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and people managers
  • Experience building 0-1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or multi-sided marketplaces
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical leadership experience
