Position Summary

Pharm Technician/Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for performing intake activities and functions in accordance with company policies and procedures to assist in the flow of dispensing drugs to the patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pharm Tech Hours: Monday through Friday 10a to 7p central time, no weekends required
  • Enter prescription information into the system in preparation for pharmacist verification
  • Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information to ensure all other groups can successfully serve the patient
  • Conduct an initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing
  • Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns so that all information is collected and accurate before it reaches other teams for further processing
  • Creating or updating progress notes concisely to ensure other roles within the workflow are able to quickly assess the status of the referral
  • Enter new provider information (i.e., National Provider Identifier) accurately into the system so that the Business Intelligence group can complete their reporting
  • Work with the highest degree of quality and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as trained and assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.

Critical Skills
  • 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
  • Conscientious and detail-oriented
  • Multi-task oriented
  • Competent in basic computer skills
  • Ability to effectively work independently or within a team
  • Ability to follow directions and strive to exceed expectations
  • Effective communicator

Preferred
  • Prior experience working in a Mail Service or Specialty Pharmacy setting
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Innovative and continuous improvement mindset

Education
  • High School Diploma or greater
