The Line of Business Finance Teams manage the finance functions directly supporting the Wells Fargo Lines of Business: Commercial Banking (CB), Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Consumer Banking, Consumer Lending and Wealth and Investment Management (WIM)  

The teams are responsible for:  

  • Supporting LOB leadership from a finance perspective, including providing consultative financial support and business analytics to enable business strategy, activities and initiatives;
  • Ownership and analysis of financial projections, actual period-end results, and other required LOB financial submissions;
  • Governance and oversight over the LOB's management and legal entity reporting; 
  • Risk management and stewardship of sound financial and operational internal controls and processes;
  • Financial oversight of product pricing, customer profitability, Investor Relations support materials and any significant in-business financial analysis used to support business decision making.
  • Cost and expense management, including financial oversight of project investments, compensation models and expense program reporting
  • Establishing strong partnerships with the Corporate Finance COE's and other business partners, including Controllers, Treasury, Risk, HR, Legal, etc.
  • Maintaining a team characterized by deep functional and technical subject matter expertise, and a team culture consistent with the Company's Expectations.

The Role

This role will report to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis for the Commercial Banking segment, and will support financial planning & analysis routines including business reviews, financial updates and strategic planning.  This role will also drive and strategic and process improvement initiatives across the the broader Commercial Banking Finance organization to enhance its effectiveness, efficiency and impact.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and enhance financial, business, and product analytics and metrics to support business strategies and leadership decision-making to drive improved financial outcomes for CB
  • Lead, drive and support
    • CB's Segment Financial Reporting including Management reporting, Regulatory reporting, Quarterly earnings and Investor Relations materials
    • Forecast Reporting including the Annual Financial Budget and nine-quarter forecast updates
    • The CCAR/MYFA/RRP processes
    • Other reporting, analytics and analyses needed to support effective leadership decision-making
    • The preparation and development of presentation materials for executive audiences
  • Analyze important issues and complex situations using data to derive actionable insight
  • Lead strategic and process improvement initiatives to enhance CB Finance's effectiveness, efficiency and impact
  • Help build strong relationships and partner closely with CB Finance and Business partners, Corporate Finance and other partners and stakeholders to drive results and execute on deliverables
  • Support Audit and Regulatory requests as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, strategy, analytics or a similarly rigorous, strategic problem-solving field, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
