GENERAL PURPOSE:
The position of Senior Manager reports directly to the Director of Customer Facing Solutions team and will be based in Dublin, CA. Responsible for driving stores' IT strategy and roadmap, including evaluation, selection, and solution designs of application and technology in close partnership with Ross Architecture team. Required to bring deep knowledge of Retail store functionalities, including POS, payment solutions, customer data management solutions, and overall IT integration and management of large-scale solutions. Highly visible role with a broad engagement within Ross IT and Business teams as well as externally with technology providers. This position will manage and provide leadership to direct reports of various levels and consultants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to create an efficient work environment conducive to teamwork and collaboration and encourage good communication between employees and management.

• Influence roadmap direction for Stores technologies

• Responsible for defining and maintaining strategic technology roadmap and plans for Store Systems. Participate in IT 5-year planning and annual budgeting process.

• Provide guidance to project delivery teams, ensuring proper scalable technology solutions while achieving the desired strategic business outcomes.

• Work closely with Solution Architects to develop an architecture (application and techonolgy) roadmap that aligns with the strategic objectives of business units adhering to Retail industry best practices.

• Performs business analysis activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational level, working with key IT and Business partners to explore and evaluate new solutions in the marketplace.

• Project Delivery:
o Ensure Store Systems projects are designed and coded to meet the defined requirements while adhering to the company technology strategy.
o Provide consultation and guidance throughout various project phases, including testing and deployment strategies.
o Influence projects to ensure completion on time, within budget, and meeting anticipated business benefits.

• Must be able to quickly establish credibility at all levels of the organization, including senior-level business executives

• Manage budget, resources, and schedules across multiple projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 10+ years combined in delivering IT technologies, processes or capabilities within a Fortune 500 or similar IT environment

• 5+ years' experience delivering store infrastructure solutions in Retail industry

• Demonstrated Retail Store Systems Technical solution delivery experience. Technically competent; able to lead large group resources of engineers, solution architects, consultants, and 3rd party vendor resources.

• Experience in a variety of enterprise-level application and business solutions in Retail technology (POS, payments, in-store mobility, labor), cloud platforms, business capability modeling, Advanced Analytics, AI, AR, computer vision monitoring, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle critical situation, negotiating solutions and resolving conflicts with customers, IT partners and vendors

• Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as estimating, managing cash flow and TCO

• Experience managing teams over 10 FTEs, including subcontractors and offshore resources

• Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones

• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work effectively with VP and above executives

• Leadership skills: able to influence others to the desired outcome, supervise and inspire team members

• Some travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Work experience with a major retailer or via technology consulting company

• Working technical knowledge of retail store solutions

• Project management experience is a plus

• Experience working with IT Systems Integrators and Hardware vendors

• Graduate degree

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
