Simulation Based Customer Integration Thermal/Fluids - Technical Specialist
Description
We are looking for a talented Simulation Based Customer Integration Thermal/Fluids - Technical Specialist in support of our Cummins Core Technologies Business Unit in Columbus, IN (Hybrid).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Serve as the senior technical liaison between OEMs and represent Cummins customers during new product development programs
- Obtain input and negotiate with Subject Matter Experts and Value Package Introduction (VPI) Teams and deliver product data and installation requirements to Application Engineers and OEMs.
- Apply and improve processes, such as Installation Quality Assurance, OEM integration and product selection and tools such as Advisor, Cummins OnLine Specifications (COLS) and Global Customer Engineering (GCE) required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
- Develop strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts to serve as their primary liaison to deliver specialized product technical information, manage product specifications, communicate product change information, conduct complex installation issue resolutions and facilitate customer requests.
- Lead the translation of customer needs and "voice of the customer" into functional product requirements to provide input on program-related decisions
- Serve as customer/market advocate inside Cummins during participation in new product development programs, design reviews and product change request processes.
Qualifications
To be a succesful in this role, you will need the following:
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline is required. Advanced degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making is preferred with demonstrated experience with managing suppliers and vendors.
- Experience of 5 years of using thermal-fluids and heat transfer using commercial 3D CFD tools is required.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics required, along with CAD preprocessing and post-processing tools experience.
