Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for negotiating clinical trial budgets and payment terms with sponsors; Understands and transforms research assessments and other USOR cost elements using fee schedules, into excel based budgetary proposals in accordance with clinical trial protocols. Requires critical thinking and collaboration regarding additional charges that may be anticipated within a protocol. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to finalize clinical trial agreements

2. Serves as primary contact for external stakeholders throughout negotiation, anticipates and works through potential issues, and leverages multiple pricing strategies to ensure a budget structure that supports USOR and network financials.

3. Ensures alignment with internal teams regarding project requirements and competing deadlines. This includes collaboration with the MCA team regarding appropriate billing considerations secondary to legal requirements.

4. Create and maintain documents that will be shared with research sites related to billing as well as case report forms in the clinical trials management system (CTMS). Ensure consistency between all site facing documents. Management double check will be provided periodically and as necessary depending on level of experience and quality of work.

5. Work collaborative with internal team to amend protocol budget as required based on, identified challenges, protocol amendments, site needs, or changes to clinical pathways.

6. Communicates with internal stakeholders through collaborative meetings to understand the protocol and clinical research industry/operations. Work within established processes and workflws to ensure functioning within USOR expectations. Documentation of required steps to ensure collaboration and transparency between internal teams.

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training -
Bachelor's degree in a finance, business or clinical field.

Business Experience -
  • 4 years of experience in cinical research
  • Preferred experience with sponsor communication and financial considerations of research
Specialized Knowledge/Skills -
  • Clinical experience, reading a research protocol, a basic understanding of billing regulations and medicare coverage analysis
  • Attention to detail and demonstration of quick follow-up to study needs, commits to quality.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, handles day to day work challenges confidently, is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; shows resilience in the face of challenges, demonstrates flexibility.
  • Interpersonal skills and clear oral and written communication skills. Uses correct grammar, syntax, and format.
