Job Summary Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Information Services department. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position and is eligible for full benefits. We have flexible work alternatives and are open to working in a hybrid model. Reporting to the Director, Business Systems, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will work primarily with internal G&A (Finance, HR, Legal, Development, Facilities, Ship Operations, etc.) customers in support of the ERP system and related business applications. The successful candidate will identify requirements, assist in the development of practical solutions, and troubleshoot problems while working in collaboration with customers and fellow IS associates. This position utilizes extensive experience to provide high level technical support to the community as well as mentorship to the Business Systems group. Essential Functions Work closely with department subject matter experts through interviews, workflow analysis and/or existing systems documentation/procedures to define and document user business requirements and from those requirements define system functional specifications. Serve as liaison between business users and IS team to ensure requirements are met. Propose solutions to address issues and improve efficiencies. Lead and/or participate in implementation of new systems or enhancements. Create and execute test plans based on defined requirements. Conduct User Acceptance Testing. Identify and resolve system issues to meet customer needs. Provide on-going system/technical support to users, including end user documentation, training and security. Coordinate with other internal IT functions as appropriate to ensure proper system integration. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Act as reporting specialist for business users including selection of the best reporting method based on requirements. Troubleshoot issues and discrepancies between reporting sources using database query tools such as SQL. Automate business processes by using application workflow technology. Train and mentor other Business Systems team members. Provide consultative support for Business Users. Act as back-up technical support for other Business Systems supported functions. Act as back up for the Senior Manager, Business Systems. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: May perform other duties as deemed necessary Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree preferably in information technology, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years related experience Position requires process driven analysis skills and in-depth knowledge of business and system processes. Advanced problem solving abilities are essential. Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks and independently set priorities. Successful applicant will communicate professionally (both oral and written), with clarity and brevity, requiring minimal supervision. Technical skills required include advanced knowledge of Enterprise level Financial, Procurement, Human Resource and Payroll system support including report writing, with extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Office (including Visio). Extensive experience with report writing tools, data warehouse concepts and cloud technology required.
