We are currently looking for an Engineer to support the Rapid Assured Microelectronic Prototypes Using Advanced Commercial Capabilities (RAMP) program within the Strategic Microelectronics Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane.

The Rapid Assured Microelectronic Prototypes Using Advanced Commercial Capabilities (RAMP) prototype project addresses brand a new Secure Design Capability that will provide DoD relevant IC prototypes utilizing state-of-the-art (SOTA, defined as ≤ 22nm node Si CMOS) fabrication. RAMP is leveraging commercial capabilities to establish a quantifiably secure and commercially scalable design cloud infrastructure and process to ensure both the confidentiality and integrity of circuits during the design and fabrication flow.

The selected candidate will provide direct support to the RAMP Technical Lead onsite at NSWC Crane. This position will provide engineering, technical, and program management support to multiple Program Offices and customers.

Essential responsibilities include:
  • Provide customer interactions with Program Offices and RAMP contractors/subcontractors. Customer interactions will be a combination of teleconferences and onsite meetings.
  • Monitor and evaluate the RAMP contractors/subcontractors through technical interchange meetings, status teleconferences, email correspondence, and other meetings as required.
  • Evaluate RAMP performer deliverables and presentations.
  • Support the RAMP Technical Lead as needed, identifying issues and action items, white papers, and participating in RAMP management team discussions.
  • Support development of technical proposals/presentations and provide comments on the technical content.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to the ASIC front-end digital design flow steps from including best practices for RTL design, synthesis and verification.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to the ASIC back-end digital design and verification steps process design kit (PDK) integration, GDSII layout, including logic equivalency checking (LEC), design rule checking (DRC), layout versus schematic (LVS).
  • Understanding of relevant microelectronics threats, vulnerabilities, assessment of mitigations and residual risk.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field and 3-5 years experience, or equivalent
  • Understanding of ASIC Design Flow, EDA Tool Environments, Integrated Circuit (IC) fabrication process.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • Ability to occasionally travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
