The Mechanical Engineer role provides diverse work responsibilities including developing new applications, supporting / troubleshooting of existing manufacturing processes, PCBA production lines and fabrication of mechanical interfaces supporting a variety of manufacturing processes and tests. Integrating with technology New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability, assembly, and complete test coverage.  

The position requires individuals to be on-site so they can work with the new project development teams and support of the manufacturing operation. However, remote working is possible on occasion depending on on-premises support and overall project development conditions.
 

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing with technology engineering teams on new product development ensuring they are integrated into the manufacturing production process meeting all critical manufacturing requirements
  • Design and ownership of manufacturing process test fixtures and tooling for new products and support existing product fixtures and mechanical assemblies.
  • Providing technical guidance for manufacturing processes to support sustaining activities as well as continuous improvement
  • Performing third party reviews of mechanical fixturing and designs to determine defect root cause and corrective actions
  • Supporting manufacturing operators, technicians, and supervisors across multiple work centers to troubleshoot manufacturing test and fixtures.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in mechanical engineering design, development, and application; including university project and classroom work
  • Experience / knowledge of CAD design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical elements and a desire to learn and develop these
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze problems from data and identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Bently Nevada product line
