Temporary Job Description: These positions will support events and activities associated with the arrival and inauguration of Northwestern’s 17th President, Dr. Rebecca Blank. As a member of the special events team in the office of alumni relations and development, this position will support: Drafting guest communications including correspondence with alumni, donors, and other invited guests Data entry and database organization supporting RSVP tracking and management Creation and preparation of nametags and other personalized materials Editing and proofreading of run of show materials, remarks, and correspondence, as requested VIP support including assisting with the creation of guest itineraries, organization of travel and accommodations, and setting up and staffing an on-event welcome desk. General event management and execution including communication with vendors, organizing of event supplies, and day-of event execution support. Occasional availability for evenings and weekend events will be required. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and attention to detail. They must also bring strong customer service skills and a comfort level interacting with university faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and other special guests. Qualifications Required: A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Strong writing skills; High level of organizational skills and attention to detail; Diligent and can work independently; Experience working with confidential information; Professionalism; Flexibility, adaptability in a fast paced environment.
