Department: Facilities Administration - 35240 Brief Summary of Work for this position: The Business Officer position is a member of Facilities management team and is responsible for developing departmental budgets, training and guiding department heads on financial matters, reconciling funds, writing and maintaining policies and procedures; reviewing and facilitating improvements to administrative processes; data integrity and reporting. This position is also responsible for reporting construction and project activity to General Administration using Interscope. This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions, even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and two years of administrative management or business management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience : Administrative and budget management experience, organizational skills, analytical and problem solving skills, oral and written communication skills, accuracy, attention to detail, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university faculty and staff Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in establishing, applying and interpreting policies and procedures and ability to meet high standards of professionalism Required Certifications or Licensure: N/A Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: The Facilities Administration department provides multiple services to Facilities departments and leadership to its administrative employees. Area of responsibility includes AiM system administration; Banner Finance, Budget & HR management functions. It is responsible for 100% of Facilities procurement activities for Physical Plant, Project Management & Architecture and Construction Services & Facilities Store inventory and management.
