The Tippie College of Business seeks candidates for an Assistant Director in their Undergraduate Program Office (UPO). The position is responsible for promoting internships as part of the Tippie RISE (Research, Internship, Study Abroad, Experiential courses) experiential learning requirement. Responsibilities will require occasional time outside the 8:00am to 5:00pm workday to support student activities and events. This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Work arrangement options will be discussed during the hiring process. Specific Job Duties and Tasks Plan, design, and implement educational programs and events to support Tippie College and pre-business students securing internships. Develop strategic recommendations for internship opportunities to fulfill the learning objectives of the Tippie RISE requirement. Serve as a liaison with departments, professional preparation seminar instructors, and faculty regarding internships and career planning. Manage enrollment and teach BUS:3100 Academic Internship/Cooperative Ed in the fall, spring, and summer terms. Train new staff about internship process and provide ongoing communication regarding internship course enrollment and related data. Develop a strategic plan for a future internship requirement for all Tippie undergraduates. Work with UPO colleagues and the Tippie College Career Services team to identify and promote internship opportunities for students. Required Qualifications Typically 1 to 3 years in a student services role supporting undergraduate success such as career advising, academic advising, academic support and retention, residence life, admission counseling, study abroad advising, student life or similar. Experience fostering and promoting values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Working knowledge of and experience in program management and/or event planning and execution. Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and large groups both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship building skills with a variety of individuals and groups, including peers, leadership, and external constituents. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in business, student affairs or a related field. Reasonable experience with planning, implementing, and assessing internship programs and their impact. Reasonable experience working individually with undergraduate students in an ongoing advising or mentoring capacity. Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to undergraduate students.
