Requisition Number: S_220662 Department: Research Resp-Human Subj Prot Prog-1315 Description of Work: The Research Compliance Services Office seeks to hire an Export Control professional at one of four levels: Compliance Specialist, Coordinator I, Coordinator II, or Manager. Full-time remote work is possible. The Export Control Compliance Specialist performs functions related to the oversight, guidance and direction of the UNL Export Control Program, processes, and policies. The primary focus of this position is applying policies and regulations to provide expert advice and training to university administrators and employees on matters relating to Export Control and preventing non-compliance with organizational policies and procedures relating to export-controlled research. Other duties as assigned. In addition to the above responsibilities, the Export Control Coordinator I and II are responsible for other duties as assigned specific to training, creation of TCPs and interaction with the National Strategic Research Institute ( NSRI .) In addition to the above responsibilities, the Export Control Manager is responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Export Control Program when the Director is unavailable. Minimum Required Qualifications: Export Control Compliance Specialist: Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required; equivalent education/experience considered. Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, apply, and communicate information specific to export control project review and the ability to apply supervised analysis in the completion of functional processes necessary. Demonstrated ability to develop knowledge of activities outside functional areas essential. Export Control Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required; equivalent education/experience considered. Requires the ability to understand, interpret, apply, and communicate information specific to export control project review and the ability to apply analysis in the completion of functional processes. Must possess knowledge of work activities outside functional areas. Export Control Coordinator II: Bachelor's degree plus 4-6 years of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required; equivalent education/experience considered. Requires the advanced ability to understand, interpret, apply, and communicate information within a specialization and the ability to apply analysis in the completion of functional processes. Must possess advanced knowledge of work activities outside functional areas. Export Control Manager: Bachelor's degree plus minimum of 6 years of experience in a research university and/or complex multi-tasking environment required. Requires the advanced ability to understand, interpret, apply and communicate information within a specialization and the ability to apply analysis in the completion of functional processes. Must possess advanced knowledge of work activities outside functional areas. In addition to mastering EC related requirements, must also be able to provide direction and supervision of the EC program in order to advise others as needed if the Director is unavailable. Preferred Qualifications: Export Control Compliance Specialist: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred. CITI Trained desirable. Completion of ECoP ( EAR / ITAR ) within 2-3 years of hire preferred. Export Control Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred. CITI Trained desirable. ECoP ( EAR / ITAR ) Certification preferred. Export Control Coordinator II: Master's degree in a STEM field preferred. CITI Trained desirable. ECoP ( EAR / ITAR ) Certification preferred. Export Control Manager: Master's degree in a STEM field preferred. Previous experience in decision-making and or limited supervisory role helpful. CITI Trained desirable.
