Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary The role of Alumni & Constituent Engagement is to provide meaningful, personal, and sustained connections with alumni, parents, and friends to advance Washington University. The Senior Associate Director, Class and University Programs will work closely with the Director, Class and University Programs to develop strategies for and implement major on-campus events. The main job responsibility will focus on Founders Day, but will also include additional responsibilities with undergraduate Reunion programming, student programs, St. Louis alumni engagement, and Wednesdays with WashU speaker series. Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Founders Day programming, honoree engagement, and evaluation; including honoree engagement and various event planning related activities (contract negotiations, venues, catering, entertainment, establishing logistical plans, securing speakers, assisting with talking points, etc.). Continue building collaboration with University Advancement colleagues to enhance honoree experience. Ensure that marketing and programmatic timelines are met. Run Founders Day metrics and analysis to ensure that the program is effective and successful and provide recommendations for needed changes or updates on the program. Supervise the Assistant Director, whose main job focus is on analyzing program data and support events with vendor management. Providing appropriate training and management of schedule as projects and tasks are presented. Strategic programming by supporting the Director of Class and University Programs to help drive strategic programming aligned with Alumni and Constituent Engagement Strategic Plan. Using the strategic plan as a guide, set metrics for programs and events. Evaluate programs on an annual basis to ensure that they are effective and successful. Make recommendations for adjustments to programs as necessary. Contribute significantly to the implementation of the departmentâ™s long-range strategic plans. Program evaluation by understanding the details and logistics of programs implemented by the Class and University Programs team (including but not limited to Founders Day, Reunion, student programs, and Wednesdays with WashU). Assist Director of Class and University Programs with event metrics and analysis to ensure that programs are effective and successful. Proactively identify opportunities for growth within University programming. Undertake special assignments for programs as needed. Preferred Qualifications Five to seven years of experience in alumni relations, higher education, public relations, marketing, or a related field.  Demonstrated strength in organizational and project management skills. Prior experience in event planning and management. Prior experience in budgeting. Prior experience in volunteer management. Knowledge in higher education. Enthusiasm for the mission of Washington University, matched by a desire to reflect its excellence.  Demonstrated strength in organizational and project management skills. Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.  Flexibility in a fast-paced and complex organizational environment.      Ability to listen carefully, learn quickly, and work effectively. Ability to remain focused on multiple priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues across the University. Ability to stay task-oriented without supervision. A strong work ethic, a sense of commitment, and personal initiative are integral to this role. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and a minimum of three to five years of related experience. Grade G13 Salary Range $62,000.00 - $106,000.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
