The Misconceptions

Let's go ahead and talk about the "elephant in the room" — why would someone want to work for a tobacco company?

It's an industry going the way of dinosaurs, right? Could someone really have a long career? And tobacco companies face controversies and pressures from society that other industries don't. What would people think if you worked for a tobacco company?

We know you may have some preconceived ideas of what it's like to work for RAI or one of its affiliated companies. But the reality is very different than what you might imagine. Our companies are great places to work, where you have the opportunity to make a positive impact. So believe us when we talk about innovation. We are not only transforming our companies, but also leading transformation within our industry.

Commitment to Our Employees

When you work at Reynolds American Inc. or its affiliates, you are more than an employee. You are recognized as an individual, with unique ideas, talents and potential. That's why our corporation has a small-company feel, even though RAI and its subsidiaries have 5,400 employees in total. Our work environments are creative and fun. Brainstorming and collaboration are the norm, not the exception.

We give every employee the opportunity to succeed; in return we expect them to give us their best effort every day. We also expect every employee to demonstrate our Leadership Dimensions.

With us, you'll be given tremendous responsibility and the opportunity to go as far as your aspirations take you. And we'll help you get there.
