Job Description
- This position is responsible for the day-to-day strategic and actuarial support of the NY/NJ market
- Helps achieve profitability and member growth financial goals by acting as a strategic partner with their business partners
- Cultivate relationships with local regulators and participate in communications with them proactively and as requested
- Excellent verbal and written communication to various audiences to establish strong relationships and to effectively convey observations and recommendations
- Participates in the team and helps foster a team environment of trust and collaboration.
- Establish deep understanding of competitive landscape and competitor prices compare to Aetna rates so that recommended actions can be devised
- Build or facilitate creation of initiatives to drive down cost structure so price points can be competitive and achieve required financial goals
- Create or facilitate creation of initiatives for more attractive products, networks and contract arrangements to fuel growth
- Devise responsible pricing strategies to help grow membership. Recommend decisions logically based on data and business acumen that weighs the pros and cons and considers calculated risks
- Navigate several data points, possibly contradictory, and rationalize recommended course of action, recognizing risks and opportunities. Work with different areas to understand those data points.
- Work with several business functions (Sales, Medical Management, Network, Contracting, Product, Finance, Underwriting) to brainstorm initiatives and set up metrics to monitor focused execution
- Ability for divergent thinking for brainstorming and connecting many ideas and ability for convergent thinking to ensure a recommended course of action and execution
- Influence/empower resources within and outside of direct control to complete projects
- Strong voice for local market unique needs while also balancing the need to streamline processes for efficiency
- This is an individual contributor role, no direct reports

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 100,000
Maximum: 221,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of relevant actuarial health care experience.
Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Compliant with the applicable Continuing Professional Development requirements and capable of signing required actuarial certifications

COVID Requirements
