The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Within EFT the Corporate Risk Technology (CRT) group helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk, and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Calculation Services group in Corporate Risk Technology is seeking a Lead Front End Engineer (Lead Software Engineer) to work on building and supporting a platform that runs and monitors qualitative and quantitative risk models for multiple lines of businesses. This position will provide an opportunity to build responsive user interfaces and dashboards with ReactJS that integrate with Python and Big Data services.

We make extensive us of use Spark, Rest API's, Django, Django DRF, React JS to develop and maintain an extensive SDK and Framework to enable self-service development, deployment, and end to end Batch and Real time Forecasting solutions available to our business. While we focus on integrating with Open-Source Apache and Linux Foundation AI & Data products, we also integrate with the latest commercial solutions like AtScale, Dremio, H2O.AI, Tableau and more through an API first integration strategy.

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead multiple initiatives to build and support the platform
  • Define and develop standards for UI Development
  • Design, code, test, debug, document and review code for projects
  • Partner with UI/UX Designers to develop and review designs
  • Adhere to best practices, team standards, processes, workflows and schedules
  • Collaborate with key technical leads, senior technology teams to design solutions and meet goals
  • Host live demo sessions to showcase enhancements to diverse and large group of business partners
  • Drive a culture of automation, test coverage and architect for Micro Services, API, Cloud Native and Headless Architecture – Decoupling the front ends and backends of the technology stack.

Required Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • 5+ years of experience developing single page applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing enterprise web applications using React JS with Redux.
  • 5+ years of scripting experience employing ECMAScript specifications for ES6
  • 5+ years of RESTful API design and development experience
  • Prior banking domain skills and depth knowledge in risk & finance forecasting domain

Desired Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or higher in computer science or finance
  • A professional certification in technology
  • Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
  • Should have leadership skills to drive work stream from technical aspects
  • Should have command knowledge on story estimations, design reviews, code reviews, quality code delivery
  • 1+ year of Oracle experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Python based API services using Django Rest Framework (DRF)

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
