Overview:

GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative leader to join our team supporting a Federal customer in developing new, and maintaining existing, software systems in an agile environment. The position is located in Washington, DC. GDIT provides full software development lifecycle as well as operations & maintenance expertise for a variety of applications supporting a complex case management process that supports many thousands of users in a highly visible public-facing set of applications. Our services include program and project management, scrum master support, business requirements analysis, solutions architecture, software engineering, release management, application support, security management, testing services, configuration management, change management, and COTS/GOTS support and the development of new solutions as needed. As part of the program, GDIT supports the agency in all its Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Development/Security/Operations (DevSecOps) methodologies, practices, and processes. Join our team!

Responsibilities:

Technical
  • Experience as platform team developer who develops and manages the CI/CD pipelines of a wide variety of applications.
  • Experienced in providing DevSecOps implementation using Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar tools.
  • Experienced in developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications.
  • Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools and methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Software Build process.
  • Experienced DevSecOps Engineer on the Level Up Platform team should have a passion for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for a large Level Up enterprise that consists of hundreds of applications.
  • Strong "security first" mindset.
  • Strong experience in and understanding of Cloud APIs and Cloud technologies with some programing experience.
  • Using cloud APIs to automate provisioning, deployment, improving system performance and stability a plus.
  • Managing private/public cloud deployments (VMware, Azure, AWS).
  • Works closely with development teams on architecture to accelerate delivery of the solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining a variety of production, development, and test environments.
  • Creating/Updating CI/CD pipelines that can manually/automatically trigger to create right images, run tests, and publish them.
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing CI/CD pipeline.
  • Diagnosing complex system issues with multiple influencing factors.
  • Managing tasks across multiple simultaneous projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Working with Application teams to deliver leading platforms with tight deadlines.
  • Acting as a liaison between application development and different infrastructure teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across multiple applications.
  • Strong experience in Red Hat Linux preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong experience with providing engineering support for software application in the full DevOps pipeline (Continuous: Development, Testing, Integration, Delivery, Monitoring).
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye, GIT, Ansible, Ansible Tower, Selenium, HP Fortify, Bamboo, Maven, Crucible, SonarCube).
Communication and Organizational
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to identify priorities to accomplish a variety of tasks on schedule.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work with people at every level. Comfortable writing down ideas, implementation plans and status reports.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with developers, testers, systems engineer, DBAs, scrum masters, business owners and management.
  • Ability to work with technical writers giving the instructions for SOPs, and other release/operational documents.
  • Ability to work independently and with various other teams across the organization.
  • Ability to work with teams that support application (both centralized and distributed).
  • Familiarity with the Agile principles and methodology, SAFe Framework.
  • Working knowledge of Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, etc. is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge with Agile software management tools like Atlassian applications.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 to 7+ years' experience in IT system engineering, systems development, systems coding and programming.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
