Location: Bloomington Department: IU Bloomington Light Microscopy Imaging Center Position Announcement: The Indiana University Light Microscopy Imaging Center ( LMIC ) is seeking a full-time manager for our core imaging facility on the Bloomington campus. The fee-for-use center provides access and training for widefield, confocal, and super-resolution microscope systems and consultation for life-sciences experimental applications. The LMIC is operated by the Office of the Vice-Provost for Research ( OVPR ) with a faculty director and advisory board. This year-round position will begin in August 2021; for best consideration apply by July 1, 2021. Responsibilities Manage all elements of the imaging facility: oOversee microscope system maintenance. oManage electronic scheduling system. oTrain users with all microscope systems. oConsult on experimental design. oConsult and train users on basic image processing. oMaintain records of facility use and publications. oOversee electronic billing system Participate in and promote Light Microscopy education: oTeam teach in an existing graduate level light microscopy course. oOrganize workshops on light microscopy topics. oFacilitate demonstrations of new microscope technologies. Community Service: oParticipate in Faculty and Graduate student recruiting. oProvide tours and programs for area schools. oParticipate in local STEM educational events. Basic Qualifications: PhD with extensive experience in widefield and confocal fluorescence microscopy. Experience with image data processing and analysis for publication.
