About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant...

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives, and delivering insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics
  • Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models
  • Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance
  • Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff
  • Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative fields such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, economics, econometrics or computer sciences
  • 5+ years of experience in portfolio credit risk analytics
  • Experience with analytical research and executive presentations
  • Experience preparing data and analytics for leadership
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis and interpretation of complex data
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Strong technical skills and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in SAS, SAS macros & SQL, including Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or SAS Visual Analytics
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office/Excel and data visualization
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues or change management processes

Job Expectations:

  • Primary role is to provide portfolio oversight, apply business knowledge  and analytics skills to serve as a subject matter expert, analyst, advisor and consultant to the CIB frontline and IRM stakeholders.
  • Provide data analytics, portfolio performance reporting and forward-looking indicators to portfolio managers, supporting effective risk management and capital optimization
  • Perform various complex activities related to portfolio performance analysis and reporting
  • Conduct pro-active and ad-hoc research to identify emerging risks.
  • Provide data support and aid the portfolio managers with preparing quarterly/monthly reports.
  • Develop analytical techniques that look across and connect multiple data types and sources to support credit risk oversight
  • Extract and analyze data from multiple technology systems/platforms and related data sources to assist with reporting.
  • Identify opportunities and deliver process improvements, standardization, rationalization and automations (Excel to Tableau)
  • Develop dynamic dashboards; analyze key risk parameters to help understand changes in portfolio performance
  • Identify opportunities for strategic and infrastructure projects.
  • Design and deliver process improvements, standardization, rationalization and automations.
