Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary The Parent Advancement team strives to further the mission of Washington University by creating a culture of philanthropy primarily among non-alumni parents of undergraduate students. All members of the Parent Advancement team accomplish this by cultivating and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders including current parents, University Advancement colleagues, and Danforth campus colleagues. The Associate Director of Advancement is a digital gift officer responsible for managing a portfolio of parent donors and helping to build parent communities in target cities outside of St. Louis. This position will work exclusively in St. Louis but will have the opportunity to meet out-of-town prospect in-person when they are visiting campus. The Associate Director of Advancement reports to the Senior Associate of Advancement. Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Actively engage and manage a portfolio of recent, lapsed and prospective parent donors. Cultivate relationships with these donors via email, phone, social media, video conferencing, texting, and other technology platforms. Leverage these tools to build rapport, steward and solicit donors in a parent-centric, targeted, high-velocity manner. Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences across portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant donor communication. Meet and exceed defined outreach activity metrics, parent participation and gifts, and pipeline qualification targets. Demonstrate to donors the impact of their giving. Provide information on university developments and programs relative to their interests. Share upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, participate in parent activities/services, or otherwise deepen their engagement with the Washington University in St. Louis. Solicit donors to make new gifts, renew or upgrade. Promote philanthropic opportunities, such as university and college giving priorities, Giving Day, etc. Special focus on pre-qualifying leadership gift donors ($25,000+) and upgrading gift amounts ($1,000 - $5,000+). Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the internal constituents across Advancement. Develop a broad comprehension of WashUâ™s history, mission, strategic plan, faculty, degree programs, curriculum, and research centers. Preferred Qualifications Experience in development/advancement, preferably in higher education. Proven track record of successful solicitations and/or successful annual giving/marketing strategies.   Experience soliciting gifts of $1,000 or more. Strong technical skills. Honesty, integrity, and enthusiasm. Very strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow through. Ability to think strategically and analytically, and then implement effectively. Demonstrated passion for initiating meetings and developing relationships with prospects. Ability to articulate the mission and aspirations of Washington University. Capacity to listen carefully, learn quickly, and work effectively. Ability to work within a complex organization across multiple units dealing with diverse constituents toward development objectives. Sound judgment and the ability to make independent decisions while working collaboratively through a team approach. Comfortable working in an environment that emphasizes measurable fundraising goals. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and a minimum of three years of related experience. Grade G12 Salary Range $53,900.00 - $92,200.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
