Requisition Number: S_220512 Department: Housing Dining Service-1131 Description of Work: Steak n Shake shift leaders are an integral part of team. The Shift Leader will assist the management team by providing leadership, direction and supervision to Team Members during their shift, while ensuring a high – quality experience for guests. The Shift Leader will provide day to day operational leadership by delegating shift duty assignments to staff/students, oversee front end and back of restaurant operations, ensuring products and ingredients are stocked and available based on forecasting, and training new team members. The Shift Leader will work with the team members to ensure food standards, presentation, and quality are met in a timely fashion. In addition, the Shift Leader will provide excellent customer service to all guest through front end and back end operations which may include: greeting all guests in a friendly manner, accurately entering orders into the POS system, cashier duties, food preparation, front end and kitchen stocking, ingredient preparation, inventory, dish machine operation, cleaning duties, opening and closing procedures, and monitoring food quality and safety, and addressing guest concerns. Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma/ GED plus three years of food preparation experience and mastery of all kitchen and dining tasks and attributes; equivalent experience/education considered. Ability to read, write, weigh, and measure necessary. The ability to communicate is essential. Must have the ability to train and lead others. Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs required.
