Software Test Engineer

Description

We are looking for a talented Controls Software Test Engineer to join our team specializing in Validation in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.

This team is responsible for controls software validation for almost all electronically controlled products Cummins produces globally. This includes Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) and Model-In-the-Loop (MIL) testing for AUTOSAR compliant products.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Test development and execution for MIL and SIL environments
  • Debugging and analyzing software issues/observations detected during testing
  • Support and provide feedback for test tool and process improvements
  • Documenting detailed test results and reporting anomalies
  • Validation of software changes from defect reports and change requests
  • Work with internal customers on prioritization of test development and execution

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required. Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of software test experience
  • Strong Embedded C/MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow skills
  • Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and Configuration Management tools such as PTC Integrity, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience with SIL tools and Virtual ECU testing
  • Strong technical writing skills, verbal communication/presentation skills
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification
  • ISTQB Automotive Software Tester certification
  • Knowledge on Communication Protocols (e.g., CAN, J1939, UDS)
  • Experience with National Instruments Test Stand and LabVIEW
  • Experience with ASPICE software process and quality standards
