About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Coordinator who, in coordination with our analysts and underwriters, will be responsible for processing affordable housing loan requests with a focus on GSE transactions. In this role, you will:
Collect and review required financial and compliance documents and complete preliminary analysis of credit for MFC clients for the processing of multifamily GSE (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) affordable loans
Prepare the underwriting diligence package and works closely with the client to obtain underwriting documentation ensuring it meets Bank and GSE requirements
Coordination of the various Bank and GSE required compliance checks and reviews
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan processing guidelines and requirements, with specific focus on affordable housing programs
Build and maintain strong relationship with various partners both throughout Multifamily Capital and, more broadly, the Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business line as well as our GSE partners
Work closely with Community Lending and Investment (CLI) on transactions wherein the groups partner
Perform moderately complex administrative, transactional, operational, and customer support tasks related to Commercial Real Estate Underwriting functional area
Review credit reports from borrowers and ensure collected data meets all the regulatory requirements

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Commercial Real Estate Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Experience as a Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Coordinator
Commercial Real Estate experience
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High level of initiative and accountability
Ability to work effectively in a team environment where strong independent thinking skills are important
Ability to provide strong customer service while balancing the needs of clients, shareholders, and team members
