Scheduled Hours 20 Position Summary The Start Up Associate advises entrepreneurial students with startup ideas and develops resources they need, including connections to each other, to advance transition ideas to the marketplace. The Startup Associate designs and implements startup strategy sequences for multiple industries and companies at various stages of development. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Meets with Washington University affiliates to assist in identifying promising ideas and opportunities; helps to evaluate ideas and technologies; conduct feasibility reviews; connects to resources across campus, across disciplines, and in the region. Creates and manages signature Skandalaris Programs such as the WashU Venture Network, Accelerators, Incubators, and Hackathons. Recruits startups, judges, manage deliverables, compile data, and share results. Prepares students/alumni who are participating in regional, national, and international startup competitions. Develops concurrent workshops and programming to connect entrepreneurs and innovators in pursuit of new ideas. Recruits speakers and experts to participate in Skandalaris sequences. Manages CRM platform (AirTable) on behalf of the Center. Ensures ongoing and accurate collection of data and metrics are being pulled into the CRM and develop functional reporting systems and dashboards for the Center leadership and operation teams. Assists with data collection for rankings and other reporting needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree in business or scientific discipline and two years of relevant experience including practical business experience in new venture formation and/or graduate degree in business or scientific discipline to complement undergraduate degree.   Experience in startup environment as founder, team member, or consultant. Knowledge and experience in commercialization process.   Expertise in CRM development. Superior interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Desire to work in environment of growth and change. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree in related field and three years of experience or Masterâ™s and one year of related experience. Grade G11-H Salary Range $25.15 - $40.25 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
