Accountabilities: Director of Operations for the Women's Ice Hockey program under the general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a non-coaching position which will manage the administrative functions and operations of the Women's Ice Hockey program. The Director of Operations will plan, coordinate, and execute year-long travel plans; handle the arrangement of team scheduling and communication with all team members; coordinate team community service activities; and organize various aspects of recruiting visits. Roles and responsibilities: A strong background in organizational functions along with hockey playing experience will serve as valuable assets in this role. Produces and distributes all travel itineraries for away games Scheduling and confirming travel practice requests Responsible for travel budget and ensuring travel expenses remain within budget Coordinates all team meals (home and away) as well as hotel and bus needs Coordinates all academic break arrangements (housing, meals, activities) during out of class sessions Manages and plans all team events and functions Responsible for maintaining team spaces – lounge, locker room and storage room including: ordering of food and snacks, regular setup, cleanup and maintenance Assist coaches and marketing team with special events such as Kid's Day, Autism Awareness game, Alumnae Weekend, Senior Night, etc. Assist with management of all aspects of women's hockey team equipment and budget to ensure fiscal responsibility Film and distribute game and practice film to staff throughout the entirety of the season Share and review film with coaching staff between periods as necessary Confirm reported game statistics are accurate through video following each game Responsible for all video uploads for analytical analysis (Instat) and video exchange (Thundercloud) purposes Assist with support group communications (newsletters) including working with coaches and athletic development representative in planning, preparing and coordinating events Assist with team community service events including event scheduling, publicity, coordinating with team community service activities Assist the Athletic Communications team with social media efforts throughout the season Manage schedule for team managers ensuring appropriate coverage as needed Serve as main point of contact for visiting teams Assist with all aspects of recruiting visits while following NCAA rules and regulations Coordinate and plan official and unofficial visits with recruits ensuring we are completing appropriate compliance paperwork Work in conjunction with coaching staff to plan and implement successful recruiting strategies Work in conjunction with head coach on all aspects of Colgate Camps Oversee ARMS recruiting database. Submit accurate CARA logs for weekly submission as well as other compliance forms Build effective partnerships with co-workers through freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed Ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles. Attends and supports various Colgate Athletics games while contributing positively to the department vision and virtues Performance of all other duties and special projects as assigned by the Head Coach Professional Experience/Qualifications: The duties for this position will include but are not limited to the following: planning all operational logistics for the Women's Ice Hockey program; video/film coordination; equipment management and preparation; travel logistics; and assisting with on-campus recruiting visits and practice logistics. The position will entail no on-ice coaching duties per all NCAA rules. A current valid driver's license, in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.
