Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Review and organize simulation data needed during the requirements analysis, preliminary, and critical design review phases
  • Facilitate and manage effective change propagation
  • Manage a centralized knowledge repository to include system design, theory of operation, test plan knowledge, and internal/external interface documents
  • Oversee hardware manufacturing and implementation
  • Develop DoDAF documentation for contract deliverables
  • Ideal candidate will have had training or proven experience in systems engineering and requirements engineering management.
  • They will support requirements, verification, and analysis activities used for strategic simulation and training.
  • The selected engineering candidate will work in requirements repositories and model-based system engineering tools.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline or Information Technology from an accredited university and 2 years of experience General understanding of architecture, interface definition, and design
  • Must have a working knowledge of Systems Engineering Practices for Defense programs
  • Must have experience in deriving/allocating lower level requirements
  • Must have experience creating and maintaining requirements in DOORS
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program Access (PAR/SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity of INCOSE standards
  • Experience with agile methodologies and execution
  • Ability to work with a team in a rapid protoyping environment
  • Desire to actively work toward process improvement and efficiency
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Fisheye-Crucible)
Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
