About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Operational Risk Officer...

The candidate would apply independent risk management/second line practices to oversee various risk targets. Focus includes safe and sound risk management practices and compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines from multiple jurisdictions (e.g., OCC, FRB, FDIC, CFPB, and international regulators). This person monitors and oversees one or more targets within the Wells Fargo Technology organization. They oversee the technology and general operational risk those target(s) generate. This individual's responsibilities include monitoring and oversight of Front-Line technology teams accountable to manage technology and other operational risks within established risk appetite and tolerances. The individual is expected to maintain influence with senior technology executives and escalate concerns based upon knowledge of the Wells Fargo Risk Management Framework, policies, and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

Independently assess, report and as necessary escalate operational risks generated by Wells Fargo Technology as well as Technology and Information Security risks across the company to established governing bodies up to and including the Board of Directors. Leverage knowledge of technology infrastructure, application development (Agile Scrum, Kanban, DevOps), Architecture, Information Security, Data Management including quality, security, and privacy; multi-cloud computing (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS); risk identification, control design and assessment, and risk measurement (metrics) expertise when participating in governance, oversight, and monitoring activities. Provide thought leadership and assistance with maintaining an authoritative source library for Technology risks or other operational risks (e.g., Business Continuity, Third Party, Business Process or Data Risk). Assist with monitoring and testing adherence to policies/procedures. Perform, coordinate, and document independent cross-functional risk assessments, aggregate risk assessments, evaluate effectiveness of internal controls, and review and challenge Front Line practices. Review and challenge Front Line plans to address gaps and improve the effectiveness of technology risk management, paying particular attention to trends in financial services. Develop detailed understanding of business strategy, the customer base, products and services and other relevant industry issues, frameworks, and emerging risks. Be a driver in execution of the work function and will serve as an independent risk contact for business and risk partners and staff.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of overall experience. 7+ years of Information Technology domain experience 5+ years of in IT risk management (includes operational risk, audit, IT systems security, IT business process management) 3+ years in one or a combination of the following: Cloud computing / Big data / AI / ML / Natural Language Processing / Model Risk.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of platform technologies including network, distributed systems, desktop computing, voice, and threat management technologies RCSA (risk and control self-assessment) knowledge and experience Experience conducting monitoring and testing of adherence to policies and procedures Knowledge across enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk identification/assessment/control/monitoring, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance. Experience providing reporting and updates to senior-level management. Experience developing risk reports in response to management, audit, or regulatory requirements Industry recognised certifications such as CISSP/CISM/CISA/CRISC. Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Strong relationship development skills Agile methodology experience, product models, and customer journeys Problem solving, root cause analysis, issue management or similar experience in continuous improvement of processes, controls, technology solutions Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships Experience with data analysis to identify and communicate risk and influence stakeholders Experiencing preparing and delivering complex data in a way that is concise/understandable An execution focus, and not just developing strategy or 'consulting' with stakeholders
