Classification Title: Academic Program Manager College/Division: USC Sumter College/Division Department: USC Sumter - Palmetto College Advertised Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education & experience Advertised Job Summary: Program Coordinator and Instructor of Teacher Education – USC Aiken School of Education at USC Sumter Master's degree in education with PK-12 teaching experience required, Ph.D. in same is preferred.  Demonstrated effective teaching experience with diverse populations. Responsibilities include coordinating the University of South Carolina Aiken teacher education program on the USC Sumter campus. Includes: recruitment of potential students; advising and mentoring of current students; supporting and continuing current initiatives including Teacher Cadet, Call Me MiSTER, and the Professional Development School partnership with Millwood Elementary school; scheduling classes; identifying and mentoring adjunct instructors; and coordinating field experience placements. In addition, the role includes field based supervision of teacher candidates; ongoing university and community service; the possibility of teaching courses in the teacher education program.  Experience working in a PDS setting and/or with technology integration preferred. This 12-month position is based on the USC Sumter campus. Salary commensurate with experience. USC Sumter is located in the heart of the state, about 45 miles east of the capital of Columbia, South Carolina. USC Sumter became a University campus in 1973 and today has an enrollment of about 1,000 per academic year. USC Sumter confers two-year associate's degrees and offers baccalaureate degree programs in business and education through USC Aiken.
