Position Summary The candidate will assist with research efforts in the McCray Lab related to human coronavirus infections. A focus is on coronavirus lung disease pathogenesis and novel therapies. Areas of research interest include mouse models of disease, mouse adapted viruses, lung disease pathogenesis, lung injury and repair, and the development of disease preventions and treatments. Position Responsibilities Record, plot, analyze and interpret data independently Perform virology, molecular, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques. Maintain detailed and accurate notes of experimental results. Present data at lab meetings, and at regional or national meetings. Adhere to safety and compliance guidelines. Summarize and write findings pertinent to the research carried out. Support other members of the laboratory with his/her expertise. Mentor and oversee undergraduate students within the laboratory Assist with equipment maintenance
