Responsibilities:

As a dual-role position, the successful candidate will serve as the Customer Quality Engineer responsible for maintaining oversight of all quality related aspects at the contract manufacturer's location.

  • Serves as the on-site Honeywell quality representative to ensure rapid resolution of all contract manufacturer quality issues, including (but not limited to) driving fast completion of eCATS corrective actions/RMRAs, helping contract manufacturer with associated production return issues/clarifications, and acting as a liaison between the contract manufacturer and other Honeywell quality functions when necessary.
  • Ensures that all quality management system, regulatory, government and customer requirements are met during the course of on-going production.
  • Responsible for providing assessment inputs associated with the quality functions, including: containment of possible escapes to the customer, technical solutions, risk mitigation, internal and external communication.

  • Interacts with customers (internal and external) regarding contract manufacturer quality issues when necessary.
  • Initial responsibilities will include supporting contract manufacturer’s proof-of-build units, first article inspection, interface with supplier performance management team, and on-going product acceptance in full-rate production.

Auditor is responsible for performing quality auditing processes at the home contract manufacturer location.

  • Perform Aerospace quality systems and AS9100 audits at contract manufacturer locations.
  • Perform special process audits at contract manufacturer locations.
  • Manage audit schedules and corrective actions.
  • Support procedures, communication and metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Engineering or related.
  • 5 + Years applicable and detailed work experience in one of following areas: Program/Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Six Sigma/continuous improvement/HOS, Global Strategy development.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong background and knowledge of quality standards and practices applicable to the manufacture of aerospace products including regulatory, commercial, and industry/customer standards (e.g., ISO 9000 and AS9001).
  • Knowledge of Honeywell Aerospace sites and processes.
  • 2 + years of experience auditing aerospace quality systems.
  • Experience auditing outsourced QMS processes and non-traditional business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage the activities of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean Expert certification.
  • Proven problem solving skills, including ability to interpret data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for implementing solutions.
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of multiple data inputs and rendering clear and connected direction.
  • Interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with peers, senior leadership, and within and between organizations.
  • Able to work with people in foreign locations and adapt communications methods, working methodology and plans to align with these work methods.
  • Education, training and experience for qualification as a RABQSA AS9100 Aerospace Auditor.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments at a time and with little direction; able to deal with ambiguity and manage change.
