Job Title: Finance Product Controller - Fixed Income

As a FINREG specialist on our Core Rates Business Finance team, you will be responsible for the daily management reporting of p/l as well as month end ledger financials. Supporting a dynamic & varied trading desk who operate in both the origination & market making sectors, you will primarily partner with stakeholders within Finance in New York & Mumbai as well as across a variety of internal functions including Front Office, Market Risk & Credit Risk. You'll be an integral part of the Bank's Finance function and help pioneer the single Business Finance model that ensures front to back responsibility within one function and in a role with proven opportunities for career growth. You will help review prospective trading activity in conjunction with the Front Office to ensure compliance with local accounting and regulatory rules as well as reviewing appropriateness of current processes and controls for complex transactions.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accuracy of business financials using validation and control (V&C) methodologies of the desk's profits and losses, V&C of the month-end reporting process, and review of key controls
  • Provide strategic financial analysis to support business decision making and value-chain analysis. Provide validation and control of the daily profits and losses, monthly financial reporting, and quarterly disclosures reporting
  • Contribute to monthly V&C of the Balance Sheet and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Capital Requirements Directive IV and funding costs
  • Support Op-Risk assessments, SOX business recertification, V&C of SSOI reporting/queries
  • Ensure adoption, implementation and compliance with local and international accounting standards including IFRS (IFRS9, IFRS12, IFRS13), US GAAP (FAS157, ASU 2016-01) and HGB
  • Review prospective deals to ensure required infrastructure (SAP, Calico, Bloomberg), processes (Daily & Month end reporting, Regulatory Submissions) and controls to support accounting (IFRS, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & HGB) and regulatory (RWA and Leverage under European and US rules) treatment

Your Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in the Investment Banking Sector, particularly in Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS), Municipal Securities or Exotic Derivatives
  • Relevant experience in running daily Profit & Loss and/or Month End processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulatory rules under either US or EU guidance
  • Well-rounded communication skills with focus on presenting to a senior audience


The salary range for this position in New York City is $85,000 to $140,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration
