About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer. This individual will work with an Enterprise Middleware Compliance Support Team to ensure supported servers are compliant with the banks IT security policies by creating, validating and executing devops services. The Compliance Support Team ensures critical routine maintenance related to Application, Web and Messaging Servers occurs according to Service Level Agreements. Individual must be comfortable accessing both Linux and Windows servers to remediate products like; WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, IHS, IIS, and MQ. Examples of routine maintenance are patching, configuration drift, vulnerability resolution, and certificate management. Will be expected to interpret and modify if necessary detailed technical plans to the middleware stack. Candidate will partner with multiple lines of business to enable continues deployment.

Ideal candidate will have experience working on an Agile KanBan Team to review/accept/track work and participate in daily stand-up meetings.

Must be comfortable executing detailed technical work within a large heterogeneous server population. Experience leveraging tools like Ansible, Puppet and Venafi to deliver automated solutions at scale a plus.

This individual will also participate in an on-call rotation and partner with peer support teams in India to provide around the clock support to our customers. Will also be expected to participate in production incident response situations and Root Cause Analysis efforts.   


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of experience with the installation, configuration, implementation or administration of WebSphere Application Server

  • 3+ years of experience with the installation, configuration, implementation or administration of Apache webservers

  • 3+ years of Tomcat administration experience 

  • 3+ years of application production support experience

  • 3+ years of digital certificate management experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of experience with Agile tools

  • 2+ years of DevOps experience

  • 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash,PowerShell, Python, Shell, VBScript, or JavaScript

  • 2+ years working with configuration and monitoring technologies such Ansible, Telegraf, Grafana

  • 2+ years of configuration experience with Cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or MS Azure

  • 1+ year of experience working with Docker computer program

  • 1+ year of systems vulnerability management experience

  • 1+ year of experience providing application support for Venafi Trust Protection
