Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer or Principal Engineer Systems Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The Engineer or Principal Engineer Systems Test will synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Security+ certification
- Responsible for development and execution of software test cases to verify subsystem functional requirements.
- The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Developing robust nominal & off-nominal software test cases centered on improving the user experience
- Work independently to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once.
- The candidate will also be expected to actively seek opportunities for process improvement.
Basic Qualifications for Engineer level:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited University/College and 2 years of engineering related experience, or a Master's in STEM and 0 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM and 0 years of related experience
- An active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance, and the ability to obtain program access within a reasonable timeframe to meet business needs
- Experience writing Python scripts
- Experience working System Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering
- Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs)
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology

- Experience with IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS and ClearQuest)
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence)
- Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks
- Experience with Java, C++, or Python
- Security+ certification
Salary Range 2: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
