About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer who will proactively manage the capacity and performance of Wells Fargo Technology Infrastructure including Distributed Servers, Storage, Database, Network, Application and Cloud. The candidate will bring in previous hands-on experience in datacenter infrastructure and cloud capacity management. The candidate must exhibit the ability to communicate ideas to all levels of the organization. Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to apply core computer engineering principles, practices, and procedures to the development of a robust capacity management practice for infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker, passionate technologist, and expert in data analytics, and have the experience to operate across the enterprise technology infrastructure thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs; and working on complex problems.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain a periodic capacity plan to include monitoring, trending, forecasting and assessing new demand.
  • Create and present comprehensive capacity reports on various technology infrastructure components including database, server, storage, network and application.
  • Provide trend analysis and present improvement plans specific to performance and capacity of systems.
  • Establish demand assessment and management. Process ad-hoc and routine demands. Provide analysis and cost-effective recommendations.
  • Interface with monitoring tools to ensure required capacity monitoring and tools configuration provide required capacity analysis.
  • Ensure the successful, timely, resolution of detected capacity issues, including notification and escalation of high priority issues in infrastructure.
  • Drive capacity and resource optimization initiatives, such as reclaiming unused capacity from server, storage and database
  • Participate in new service offering design reviews and provide input from capacity point of view.
  • Participate in capacity management process definition, design & maintenance.
  • Perform monthly & ad-hoc reporting and capacity related incident review on demand.
  • Attend performance related issues & provide solutions from the capacity point of view. Identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with capacity management of technology infrastructure including server, storage, database and network
  • Experience with datacenter infrastructure technologies such as Virtual Servers, VDI, SAN, NAS, Exadata and Teradata
  • Experience with capacity monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, VCenter, VROPS, BMC Truesight, AppDynamics, CAPC, Sevone, Datadog
  • Certifications in Server, Database, Storage and Network technologies from vendors like VMware, EMC, Hitachi, Windows, Linux, MSSQL, Oracle, and Cisco
  • Ability to solve complex issues/problems and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Electronics
  • Experience with VSAN, Docker, TKG/TAS, MongoDb, PostgreSql, MSVC
  • Experience monitoring and managing capacity on Public Cloud with AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience with statistics and data analytics
  • Experience with scripting, programming and SQL
  • Familiarity with Scrum, or other agile development practice
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform
