About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology - Capital Markets. This software engineer will be focused in the Equities Electronic Technology group to help build out the Low Touch Data Hub and next generation Equity Data Analytics platform for all Front Office trading groups, finance and regulatory reporting.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
- Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
- Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of application development experience
- 5+ years of working with computing Algorithms and Data Structures
- 5+ years of Object Oriented experience
- 3+ years of designing and implementing distributed systems paradigms
- 3+ years of SQL experience
- Experience in other database platforms (e.g., Time Series DBs like kdb+, OneTick, etc., MongoDB, Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.)
- Kafka experience or other producer/consumer (pub/sub) messaging platforms
- Outstanding communication skills as required for a front office role
- A BS/BA degree or higher
- Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
- 5+ years of experience developing multi-tiered, low latency, highly reliable, applications
- 3+ years in Core Java development with expert understanding of memory management, concurrency, native I/O
- Knowledge and understanding of Design Patterns
- Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FINRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
- Cash Equities trade workflow knowledge, FIX experience
- Knowledge and understanding of technology platform development including large scale technology in a capital markets environment
- Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented design patterns and their application
- Knowledge and understanding of application lifecycle, from design and development to testing, implementation and production support
- Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture distributed and client server technologies
- Autosys experience
- Team Lead and/or Management experience
