Medical Student Assistant, Duke Eye Center
Job description: Non-Duke Student Intern
(6-8 Week Summer Program)
Responsibilities
- Participate in a laboratory research project under the mentorship of Eye Center faculty members
- Attend structured weekly professional development and networking sessions in research methodology and career development
- Participate in clinical activities related to their area of research (if applicable)
- Collaborate with other medical students from various departments
- Deliver a presentation about the summer research experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrate excellence in previous academic endeavors
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Enrolled in medical school or will have matriculated medical school by June 2022

Prior research experience is helpful, but not necessary
