The Opportunity

Qurate Retail Group is on an exciting digitization journey to modernize its IT platform to better serve retail clients in a quickly changing and competitive market. A key focus in modernization efforts will be to leverage APIs, microservices, DevOps, and containers to migrate towards a cloud-native architecture to support high performance, availability, reliability, and security. In addition to efforts to improve agility and delivery effectiveness, we are actively incorporating emerging technologies such as A.I. and Machine Learning to spur innovation in the retail and consumer market.

The Enterprise Architect plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the enterprise's technology strategy, processes, and information technology roadmap. The architect partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that proposed business and technical solutions align with the enterprise's overall mission and vision.

The Enterprise Architect focused on integration architecture is a leader for the creation of integration architecture patterns, guardrails, guidelines, and standards to support integration requirements. This position plays a key leadership role for integration services within Qurate Retail Group (QRG).

What You'll Do
  • Leads planning efforts for the future state architecture across domains for Qurate Retail Group with Solution and Systems Architects
  • Develops and nurtures credible relationships with business leaders
  • Provides input into portfolio investment decisions for Qurate Retail Group
  • Maintains productive networks with partners, the vendor community, and peers in the industry
  • Creates / designs / reviews complex solutions that span multiple products and business units
  • Evaluates and analyzes architecture for implementing enterprise-level use cases, and other requirements such as agility, interoperability, security, agility, integration, and scalability
  • Reviews product designs for compliance to the enterprise architecture guidelines and develops software architecture evaluation techniques
  • Prepares comprehensive architectural documents and presentations useful to stakeholders
  • Analyzes industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise architecture
  • Develops and maintains architectural patterns, reference architectures, guardrails, standards, and guidelines and enable adoption by solution teams
  • Collaboratively develops and refines enterprise architecture governance processes, technology capability strategies, and interoperability standards
  • Refines and enhances integration architecture reference architectures and / or standards
  • Establishes the integration patterns of cloud services with on premise application and infrastructure services
  • Coordinates with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to manage maintainable and supportable between applications and systems

Your Impact
  • Support establishing Enterprise Architecture vision and associated reference architectures for the enterprise
  • Ensure alignment between the IT Strategy, IT Project Portfolio and the Enterprise Reference Architecture
  • Establish & govern Enterprise Architecture practices, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, consulting and direction to projects and IT colleagues

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Engineering or a combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of Information Technology (IT)-related experience; or the equivalent combination of knowledge, training, and experience
  • Strong understanding of and experience in multiple business domains (e.g. merchandising, operations, order fulfillment, etc.)
  • Strong influencing skills including diplomacy, mentorship, coaching, and conflict resolution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills related to presentation of complex topics to diverse audiences
  • Roadmapping and blueprinting including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action
  • Expertise across a wide range of architectural domains and their associated patterns spanning business, data and analytics, application, infrastructure, security, broadcasting technology, and integration
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing cross-product line software architecture
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching solution teams through architectural decisioning
  • Proficient in techniques that produce designs of complex systems, including requirements discovery and analysis, formulation of solution context, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and design configuration
  • Awareness of different architectural frameworks including The Open Group Architecture Framework ("TOGAF"), IT operational frameworks including Information Technology Infrastructure Library ("ITIL"), and project management frameworks including Project Management Body of Knowledge ("PMBOK")
  • Awareness and experience in enterprise architecture tools similar to Troux, Mega, and others
  • Ability to see the broader picture and drive towards pragmatic architectural directions, decisions, and guardrails
  • Ability to identify the impact, potential benefit, and opportunities to leverage emerging technologies on Qurate Retail Group's business and collaborate with other teams to validate feasibility
  • Has familiarity in developing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as well as microservices based architecture within medium to highly complex application environments
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of integration patterns, message queue, and full integration platforms
  • Has in-depth understanding and / or experience with API protocols (e.g. REST, SOAP) and API management systems
