Job Description
This Mgr rolls up under the Sr Mgr – Value Based Contracts in the Medicare Advantage and Duals organization. The current process for recording VBC accruals is done at a very high level, making in-depth analyses challenging. This role will help create and support the Sr Mgr. and business partners by creating standards around product and market level accruals, including establishing parameters for when a receivable can be recognized. This role will work directly with the following teams; Medical Economics Unit, Medicare Product Performance, Medicare Controllership and local market/field finance teams. As we continue to increase downside risk arrangements, ensuring Income Statement alignment represents actual performance will be critical in supporting not only real time performance discussions, but also forward-looking forecast assumptions. The role will support accounting process changes with the Medicare Controller to modify existing practices, separating downside risk from upside only financial arrangements, maintain balance sheet oversight and reporting of VBC and Risk deal accruals and payments, and ensure downstream financial reporting to MEU and Actuarial member level databases receive accurate feeds from the Aetna General Ledger.

Key areas of ownership include:

• Support the Sr. Mgr to provide business partners with VBC projections or actuals and assist in providing framework to support business lines.

• Review Financials and Provide transparency on how costs, including VBC accruals, hit the general ledger

• Maintain ownership of month end accrual process for provider collaboration liabilities and improve processes

• Assist in consolidation of the MA & Duals Organization during forecasting

This role supports the overall Medicare Advantage line, which is a $35 billion line of business, representing a significant part of Aetna contribution margin and future growth.

Required Qualifications
3+ years in financial modeling/reporting
5+ years in an accounting and finance role
5+ years, Excel, PowerPoint, or financial software

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with a preference for finance or accounting
Preferred: Understanding of GAAP accounting principles
Preferred: SAP S4 experience
7+ years of financial modeling

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent year’s of experience required.
