Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Student Affairs staff help to facilitate student development at Washington University through orientation, scholarship, and engagement programs. The Assistant Director of Employer Relations builds strong relationships and strategies that connect organizations with student talent.  Through effectively leveraging both internal and external partnerships, the Assistant Director will develop and implement programming that drives optimal business performance and accomplishes the long-term goals of the Career Center. The Career Center support students and alumni as they transform their passions, education, and skills into purposeful career paths by teaching lifelong career development strategies and by connecting our diverse students, alumni, and employers. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Manages relationships with 100+ organizations while actively developing partnerships with new contacts and companies. Cultivates strong relationships with employers through site visits, employer engagements, phone/Zoom calls and a high volume of emails. Manages a specific aspect of the Career Centerâ™s programmatic efforts in a specific industry or area of expertise.  Works with alumni, parents and trustee contacts to develop campus-recruiting strategies that result in direct internship and job opportunities for all Washington University students, and help organizations achieve their talent acquisition goals. Interfaces regularly with external partners including alumni, employers, and corporations for the purposes of advancing the work of the unit.  Develops and maintains programs that facilitate strategic connections and increase hiring outcomes for students. Plans and executes employer recruiting strategies from infancy to implementation, utilizing excellent project- management skills. Manages a budget for purchases related to industry-specific programs and events.  Builds mentorship programs for students connecting alumni with students interested in learning about certain career paths. Travels occasionally (both individually and with groups of students) to engage in University outreach. Performs other duties as assigned Working Conditions Up to 15% of time for traveling domestically to meet with external constituents related to career services. Preferred Qualifications Masterâ™s degree. Experience in higher education, especially in career services and/or corporate relations. Experience with recruiting, university, or college career services. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional project-management and organizational skills.  Proven track record of a successful sales background.  Excellent relationship building skills. Proficient with technology used for career services, including CRM/database tools, LinkedIn and other social media platforms, and career services software/systems. Knowledge of job trends and career development skills. Ability to collect, interpret/analyze, and distribute data for reporting needs and market intelligence. Experience in program development, supervision, and evaluation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management and budgeting skills. Demonstrated ability to work with all constituents from diverse backgrounds. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and five years of relevant experience. Grade G11 Salary Range $49,000.00 - $83,800.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
