Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you'll get to do:
Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
Task includes but not limited to:
  • Develop requirements, verification planning and change integration for our major systems.
  • Manage requirements and integrated changes in a disciplined, broad reaching process, to ensure our Guidance, Navigation and Control systems perform to specification and satisfy every customer need.
  • Create Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) work products for the GN&C Functional Architecture and Verification Plans.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll bring these qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; or 0 years with PhD.
  • Experience with the Systems Engineering "V" Model
  • Experience with developing requirements specifications and developing verification plans.
  • Experience developing and reviewing detailed technical documentation, Specifications, Design Descriptions, Test Plans, and Test reports.
  • Experience with any of the following tools and languages: CORE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, Easy Power, Prima Vera, UML, SysML
  • U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years
These qualifications would be nice to have:
  • Experience with Guidance Navigation and Control Systems
  • Experience with working with government/military personnel at government/military facilities.
  • Experience supporting system integration, including HW, SW, suppliers and GFE.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
  • Experience with ICBMs.

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
