Job Description:

Balance Sheet Management and Treasury Finance (BSMTF) is a division within the CFO Group responsible for providing executive management with accurate and timely forecasts of the balance sheet and Net Interest Income (NII), as well as analysis of Interest Rate Risk (IRR) using various methods. This information provides the framework that allows the company to position its balance sheet consistent with its risk appetite and expectations for changes in interest rates. BSMTF maintains close partnerships with various groups across the enterprise, providing key input to critical processes and strategic decisions. Coordination with Global Risk, Model Risk, Investment Securities Portfolio Managers, and other Treasury teams facilitates strategic ALM decisions within a controlled framework.
The Interest Rate Analytics (IRA) team within BSMTF provides quantitative analytics for senior management to monitor the bank's balance sheet positioning focused on three key areas of interest rate risk measurement: risk associated with NII, Economic Value of Equity (EVE), and Other Comprehensive Income (OCI). Additionally, the team employs tools to measure MSR asset valuation, and to provide Investment Securities valuation during CCAR and Recovery/Resolution Planning stress cycles. This role is with the Mortgage Analytics team that manages the valuation of Bank's Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) asset. The team's primary responsibilities are monitoring and analyzing Bank's mortgage servicing portfolio, extracting and provisioning mortgage data for asset repricing and hedging, developing cash flow assumptions for quantitative models, industry benchmarking and supporting strategic initiatives.

This role primarily focuses on analyzing data as well as reviewing and producing mortgage analytics. Work responsibilities include daily, monthly and quarterly monitoring of the bank's MSR asset, industry trends and regulatory guidance as well as a variety of ad hoc analytics to provide consulting and support for decision making across Treasury.

The Analyst will work closely with business partners across multiple functional areas within the Bank with an opportunity to present to senior executives. You will have the opportunity to deepen technical skills as we work to enhance our analytical capabilities through the use of a variety of tools to extract and analyze data (SQL, Python, Tableau).

The Analyst will deliver Operational Excellence via actions that promote simplicity, continuous improvement and innovation, e.g. generating ideas to improve work and data ownership, developing new tools to simplify and improve our analytical capabilities. Seek opportunities to reduce operational risk and by becoming more efficient.

Required Skills:
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analytics with emphasis on cash flow valuation or risk analytics
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Accounting, Quantitative, or Economics
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to work across multiple teams in a collaborative environment
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel & SQL skills
  • Inquisitive, willing to challenge the status quo and strive to improve processes

Desired Skills:
  • Experience analyzing Mortgages or other Financial/Banking products
  • Technical Business Analyst skills (SQL, Linux/Unix, VBA, Tableau, Alteryx, Python a plus)
  • CFA or pursuing CFA a plus
