Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer . This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
What you'll get to do:
- Performing customer requirements elicitation leading to Requirements Development
- Coordination & collaboration with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams
- Supporting system, segment, element and unit level trade studies
- Definition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
- Supporting a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria
- Identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure
- Coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline.

You'll bring these qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer level.
Systems Engineer
- BS - Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- A minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 0 years with a Master's
- BS - Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master's degree; or 0 years with a PhD)
Both Systems Engineer and Principal Systems Engineer
- Active Secret Security Clearance with investigation/adjudicated within the last 6 years
- Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- 2 to 5 years of experience performing in a Systems Engineering or related technical discipline
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
- Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility
- Proficiency in MS Office
- A current DoD Top Secret clearance with capability for SAP access
- Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
- Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
- Familiarity with Model- Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML /UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
- Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
- Subcontractor technical oversight experience
- U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired
- Experience in team environment
Previous Systems Engineering experience and understanding of the systems engineering 'V'
- Familiarity with Cameo or DOORs
Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
