We are seeking a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator (SA).  The Senior SA will part of a 3-4 member staff of senior administrators.  The SA will be responsible for managing a large inventory of Red Hat Linux servers, VMware ESXi blade servers, HP storage, and AWS Cloud technologies.

The primary functions of the candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuring, maintaining, monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting of Linux Operating Systems (RHEL 7/8) with basic knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Security hardening of Linux in a standalone environment based on DISA STIGs and Tenable Nessus scan results.
  • Install & maintain various Linux applications such as Apache Tomcat, Kerberos, LDAP, Red Hat Satellite, Centrify, Java.
  • Providing O&M for virtualized environments (VMware vCenter 7, to include ESXi and distributed switches).
  • Provisioning hardware, storage, resources and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services.
  • Providing configuration management to include authoring technical documentation, process changes, and inventory control. 
  • Research and obtain quotes for hardware/software based on customer requirements.
  • Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant (have current CompTIA, Security+ certification)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 5+ years of experience or 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience managing Yum repos and patching for networked deployments of Linux systems.
  • Proficiency with automation tools and scripting to include bash, Python (experience with other tools such as Salt or Chef is also sufficient).
  • Thorough understanding and workings of Linux services including authentication services, web services, NFS, NTP, SMTP, SSH, DNS, clustering, and logging.
  • Familiarity with virtualized hosting such as VMWare and Cloud Providers (Azure or AWS).
  • Experience implementing and maintaining systems governed under Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 implementations in secure environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud computing (AWS preferred) with an emphasis on storage (S3) and EC2 system provisioning
  • MS Windows Server 2019/2016/2012 (focus on Active Directory, Group Policy) 
  • Storage engineer/administrator (3PAR, NetApp, etc.)
  • Knowledge of network switches and routing protocols
  • Experience with Windows applications such as WSUS, Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM, and audit solutions.
  • Experience with RAIDs, SANs, High Availability, Backups and Disaster Recovery.

Must possess current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.

Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
