Facilities Operations Manager

Description

The Facilities Operations Manager will be responsible for oversight of building systems in the North America West region. Manage a team of inhouse MEP Engineers and outsourced suppliers. Advise on construction projects. Develop and maintain processes and procedures. Forecast and manage operating budgets to a high degree of accuracy. Drive continuous improvement in supplier processes and operating costs. Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate will oversee Operations Engineering for a multitude of facilities office space involving site MEP distribution, BMS and Lighting control systems, Fire Life Safety Systems and evaluation of existing and new energy-efficient technologies to reduce operating costs and improve sustainability. Knowledge of construction processes, start-up, testing, commissioning and acceptance of all MEP systems and buildings operations. Candidate has a proven track record in managing a safe culture with leading indicators and methods that promote a safe working environment including incident investigation and corrective actions.
  • Manage the Operations planning process, forecasting, establishing performance metrics, and standard management reporting
  • Supervise the Operations and Maintenance team to ensure operational excellence and excellent customer service
  • Participate in the planning of facilities changes, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Sustaining Services team in evaluating systems performance, equipment age and EOL strategies.
  • Identify areas for process and program improvement and implements enhancements through assignment and management of appropriate personnel.
  • Manage the development of departmental operating and capital budgets in accordance with corporate business plans.
  • Develop end of life strategies for maintenance and replacement of building equipment
  • Review operational processes to improve productivity

Key Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in conducting MEP studies. Familiar with SKM and power distribution design as well as Mechanical and Plumbing systems design
  • Must be proficient with Building Management Systems
  • Current knowledge of energy-efficient approaches (LEED)
  • Current knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must have good people skills, be able to multi-task and enjoy working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Must be quality and safety oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record in delivering customer satisfaction


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Electrical engineering with at least 7+ years of experience
  • Preferred Masters in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • Preferred candidate to be a licensed P.E. in the State of California.
