Air Liquide R&D centers, hosting a wide range of competencies, support the Group in achieving the highest level of excellence in the technologies it provides to its customers. The DelawareInnovation Campus (ICD) in Newark, DE provides innovation and technical support to Air Liquide's businesses and markets in the Americas and worldwide.

Job Responsibilities
Air Liquide's ICD seeks a skilled technician for the Facilities Support Team. This role will focus on support of instrumentation within the site.Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday, days with only occasional evenings or weekend work.Qualified US military veterans are encouraged to apply!

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support at the research center in instrumentation which includes: calibration of gas sensors, transmitters, control valves and devices, pressure relief valves, gauges etc.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of instrumentation on research platforms etc.
  • Perform general repairs from work requests, troubleshoot, repair and Instrument and Control (I & C) equipment, resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Fabrication and Installation of gas tubing systems.
  • Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures.
  • Assist Facilities personnel in other occupations as needed.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to support research.
  • Work occasional overtime, on call shifts and fill in on other shifts as needed which may require weekend or evening work

Qualifications
Required
  • Technical AAS Degree in Instrumentation or equivalent military technical training and/or experience
  • 5+ years of experience in plant maintenance, laboratory, process industry, pharmaceutical support or comparable military setting
  • Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
  • Solution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge in gas piping systems and O2 clean procedures
  • Knowledge to read drawings and blueprints, P&ID's, layout work, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Federal, State, and Local regulations, etc
  • Availability to respond after hours in emergency situations
  • Ability to use hand and power tools including forklift operation, lifts, etc
  • Knowledge in calibration procedures
  • The functional ability using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for Work Orders, PM's etc.


Preferred
  • Familiarity with common laboratory data acquisition systems (e.g. LabView) and PLC's and demonstrated experience in the physical interfacing of instruments with data acquisition systems.
  • Building Automation System navigation experience.
